Tia’s 10 Year Anniversary This Month!

Nayeli Arechiga, the Director of Casa de Ninos Corazon de Angel, the orphanage we visited on our last project in Ciudad Guzman, made this short video about what Tia’s program means to her and the girls in her orphanage.  We are honored to include such an intelligent and compassionate Promotora to our ranks!

Please keep checking back this month as we share stories, pictures and videos from our 10 years serving our wonderful villages in Mexico!

2015: Enough People to Fill Fenway

Fenway

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, big and small, Tia has provided lifelong, free health care to enough people to fill Fenway Park, just this year alone!  Through their own hard work and education, villagers earn the privilege of access to health care: a hand up not a handout.  Thank you to our donors, brigade members and volunteers for making this possible.  We couldn’t do it without you!

Christmas Online Silent Auction

Centerpiece.jpeg

Lovely holiday centerpieces designed by Sandra Koening, like the one pictured above, are being auctioned on a special site, set up by newest, dedicated Board Member, Marianne Gouveia.  You can also find jewelry, attorney’s services, sports tickets, beautiful artwork and other great gifts at a fraction of their true value.

Don’t wait too long!  The auction ends on December 18th!  Because these items have been donated, your bid will help the most needy this holiday season and provide you with unique and lovely gifts!  Just click or type in this link: https://www.32auctions.com/tia-auction

Happy Holidays from your friends at Tia!

Breakfast with Luzma

Luzma

Tia and the UVM Brigade have been eating many of their meals at the Corazon de Angel orphanage, so we have gotten to know the children quite well.  Little Luzma (above) migrated from lap to lap.  She ate a second breakfast with us, including one of her favorites, a bowl of fresh guava.

We are extremely pleased that the director, some staff, and two of the older girls who live at the orphanage have come to our training course.  They’ll be ready to handle an emergency when it arises.  And who knows…maybe the older girls will decide to pursue a career in nursing, medicine or an allied health field.
